It has begun…

Wal-mart is now selling a Mongoose “Fixed-Speed” bike for a whopping $150.00 via their inter-web store. There’s probably going to be a wave of hate going around about hipsters riding it or that the bike is probably low quality. But you know what, everyone starts from somewhere. Not everyone has extra bread to spend on a bike. It’s a perfect time for folks to pick up any kind of bike whether old and rusty or new and shiny. If the bike fits your budget and you’re interested in the culture of biking, be prepared because its an addiction that will never go away. -cheers

It’s about time. I’m all for it. I was actually looking at Target bikes this morning, and they have some decent ones on the market. Walmart selling these means that they’re turning away from the mentality that bikes are just toys and that cheap springs and shocks sell rad bikes. Definitely a good thing. Most people buy their first bikes at the x-marts. Hopefully it rides decently.

As a wise man once said… “Bikes is bikes is bikes, and there ain’t a damned thing wrong with any of them.” If one of these gets somebody out on a bike, good for them.

No doubt. A bike is a bike is a bike. Just get out and ride that thing.
