LOCALS: Chandra
I can’t help but be attracted to fenders and racks. The ability to transport a good load by bike makes me happy. I met Chandra at the Earth Day Event at the Arts District this past weekend and he is a super nice guy. He is a commuter and blogger of a couple of blogs, one of them is GreenCoMotion and the other is Vegetarian Cyclist . Hope you check them out, since they have really good advice and information! Thanks for the photo again, Chandra.

Bicycle Electricity Generator at the Building Community Workshop Stand . Its crazy that one hour on the bike can generate enough electricity to power a computer for 2 hours, or a cell phone charger for 20 hours, or an ultra efficient refrigerator for 24 hours, or a microwave for only 4 minutes.
BikeLid at the DART Stand
50 minutes at White Rock Lake
Armed with a camera and an idea to trail walk, which I was sadly informed later was actually “Hiking”, I ended up taking pictures of folks just riding around White Rock Lake. Some people riding looking a bit intense as they rode, I guess thats what happens when your jamming to Justin Bieber on the iPod; but most looked like they were having fun. The real question is,” Why the hell wasn’t I riding!?”
LOCALS
Jon Tenholder and his Jamis
I met Jon in front of Murray Street Coffee, and thought that we should start doing portraits of people with their bikes in Dallas. So here we go, Jon is the first of many to come.
Friends at Switching Gears Cyclery
I rode to Switching Gears yesterday, to see Andee and Colin’s bike shop. The shop is in front of Fair Park at Exposition and Parry. I got to try out the All-City Nature Boy, and man could it haul and hop curves like nothing; and those drop outs are so freaking awesome. I ended up picking up a Pace Cycling Cap that feels amazing on my noggin, and did I mention, it’s made in the USA! If you’re in the area you should swing by and say hello.
Backstage of The Night Shift
Our friends at We Are 1976 let us use their parking spot in the back to use our alley cat; still cant believe Channel 5 came out to cover it.
The Spoke Card: Mikey did an amazing job with it, and the reflectors….. the only thing I can say is that its a beautiful addition!
The First Manifest: We tried to give it that time card look.
The Second Manifest: We made a second manifest so that everyone could kinda finish together, but only the first four folks were able to do this because they were just too fast.
AND THE WINNER IS: This is what we used to track times and positions in the race. BRANDON killed it by finishing the race in One Hour and Seven Minutes. Micah, Fernando, and Dallas were just behind him!
*THANKS AGAIN for racing and too everyone that came out!!
Sunday Funday!
Today headed out to the Bishop Arts District to attend Bike Bingo, a fundraiser for the Oak Cliff Bicycle Company MS 150 Team. The weather was amazing, not counting some of the brutal winds, but you still couldn’t beat it. Here are a few snippets of today’s activities. The Manifest / Bike Bingo Card being handed out.
The thief that stole Geoffs’ bike being brought to justice.
Shoshannah being bombarded with text messages during Bike Bingo.
Our team “The Sofa Kings” did the first row; this was one of the best races I have ever done.
.. and here is our route. ”Dude I love maps! “
