Switching Gears Grand Opening

I was able to attend the grand opening of Switching Gears Cyclery. It began with an amazing alley cat put on by Team Party Time. Participants picked up a can of beer from each checkpoint and brought them back to the shop. When we finished at the shop, our reward was the six pack we collected along the way. I hung out at Amsterdam Bar after the race with good folks and got to hear a real good band named “Sea Lion”. I did not get to stay for the Lonestar Goldsprints, but I am positive it was a blast!
Gotta Love Sponsored Shirts
While attending the Home Grown Festival yesterday at the Main Street Garden Park, I noticed a fellow cyclist in front of me wearing one the the ACHell shirt’s. I totally love all the local businesses that support cyclists!
Riding the MS150 with Oak Cliff Bicycle Company
The MS150 from Frisco to Ft. Worth was this weekend, and I was totally stoked to be able to ride with the Oak Cliff Bicycle Company! The ride is a fundraiser to help find a cure and treatment for Multiple Sclerosis. We rode about 87 miles on day one to the Texas Motor Speedway where there was amazing food and beer awaiting our arrival, it’s too bad that rain cancelled day two of the ride. I must say I’ve ridden this ride a couple times before, and have never had so much fun as I did with this team. If you’re reading this and are super inspired or motivated to ride it next year, may I make one suggestion….. ride with OCBC. They know how to have a good time!

Bicycle Electricity Generator at the Building Community Workshop Stand . Its crazy that one hour on the bike can generate enough electricity to power a computer for 2 hours, or a cell phone charger for 20 hours, or an ultra efficient refrigerator for 24 hours, or a microwave for only 4 minutes.

Sunday Funday!
Today headed out to the Bishop Arts District to attend Bike Bingo, a fundraiser for the Oak Cliff Bicycle Company MS 150 Team. The weather was amazing, not counting some of the brutal winds, but you still couldn’t beat it. Here are a few snippets of today’s activities. The Manifest / Bike Bingo Card being handed out.
The thief that stole Geoffs’ bike being brought to justice.
Shoshannah being bombarded with text messages during Bike Bingo.
Our team “The Sofa Kings” did the first row; this was one of the best races I have ever done.
