Broadway Bombs!

From Gawker: Vimeo user crihs and his friends compete annually in an event called “Broadway Bombs” which, as far as we can tell, is a race from the top of Broadway in upper Manhattan all the way down to where the island ends in the financial district. He was quick enough to win the race by pedaling the route in just about 38 minutes, and he distilled the experience down to about four minutes of footage, full of whizzes past cars, pedestrians, and other riders. Now all of us who are too lazy (or chicken) to actually ride the race can see just what it feels like. Thanks for doing the hard work so we don’t have to.
An EPIC weekend is coming..
This weekend there are a couple of great events going on in Dallas and Ft. Worth. On Saturday (November 20th) Trinity Bicycles is hosting CRANKSGIVING an alley cat that will provide canned good for the Tarrant Area Food Bank!! The race starts at 3 o’clock so don’t be late!! (…this is what it might be like..)…on SUNDAY (November 21st) Bicycle Friendly Oak Cliff is hosting its 2nd Annual Tweed Ride, so find your sweet tweed/wool/herringbone outfits and meet up at the Grassy Knoll before 3:30 pm. Southwest Frameworks’ Retro Ride & Picnic 2010
I went to the Retro Ride & Picnic, Southwest Frameworks put together. Lets just say there were alot of real nice bikes, real good food, and not to mention they had “boo koos” of prizes, everyone went home with something. Thanks again to everyone that put the event together!

Bicycle Friendly Oak Cliff is having CYCLESOMATIC ! Help kick it off October 14th with a ride from Downtown to the Texas Theatre to watch “Pedal”! Check out more info about rides and events on their site.

We all know ACL (Austin City Limits) is just around the corner….and so is AC Hell! Our friends are at it again and will be riding to Austin. All 240 miles. If you haven’t yet, check out their site and facebook page. Give em all the support you can!

TX Tough Grand Prix III
Come one, come all to the Texas Tough Grand Prix at Victory Park on Thursday , September 16th (it starts at 5:00pm) . This is going to be ridiculous, if you haven’t gone, this is a must see. Watching these professional racers making laps downtown will make you envious and want to become a better cyclist, or it makes me want to. Hopefully we’ll see you there !!
